Changes to NI Renewable Obligation Certificates have meant that Renewable energy production has increased and is set to increase further as governments push to achieve their climate change targets. We feel that Renewables therefore deserve their own space on our site.
Farm resourcesFarmers are uniquely placed to benefit from renewable energy production, having the natural resources available in abundance. Wind turbines have attracted a lot of interest with large sums paid by energy companies for optimum sites and the doubling of ROC payments for turbines up to 250kW. Other renewable technologies are coming to the fore recently such as
ServicesWe have assisted many clients with renewable energy projects, in partnership with affiliates we can offer specific advice on planning, wind monitoring, grid infrastructure or other technical queries.
We also have an extensive network of contacts in the renewable energy sector including venture capital companies that are interested in investing in the right renewable projects. If you therefore have suitable land for renewable technology but lack the resources give our renewable team a call on 028 82247045 or email renewables@ veritasaudit.com
Indicative Carbon Footprint
We can produce an indicative carbon footprint for your company or organisation to assess your environmental impact. This report will contain measures appropriate to the size and complexity of your business for you to implement to reduce that footprint to its minimum.
In calculating a businesses carbon footprint we adopted a 4 stage approach following so far as possible guidance in the GHG Protocol. The Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol) is the most widely used international accounting tool for government and business leaders to understand, quantify, and manage greenhouse gas emissions.
Why?Eco labelling – Many large multiples are already looking into carbon off-setting and this includes the area of procurement. Many large multiples are already examining labelling, as consumers are increasingly looking for information on environmental impact of a particular product. Consumers will want to know ''how green is my trolley?'', if your business has not started to think about this you will be left behind. When we come out of recession the environment will be number one priority for governments and consumers. If two similar products are sourced by a multiple of the same price and quality then an Eco-label with info on environmental impact will be the differentiator. The initial report can be used as a yard stick for future years to monitor on-going progress. This can also generation significant PR for a company to communicate with its customers and the public how it minimises its impact on the environment.
