Veritas believes that creating value can make a significant difference to a client's bottom line. As auditors we deliver a thorough, robust audit that provides you with an independent opinion on your accounts and real assurance over your numbers. However, we don't just leave it there…
At Veritas we develop a detailed understanding of your business. This way, we can provide you with constructive, proactive advice on a wide range of business issues, including: business risks, financial systems and controls, IT systems and controls, wider business processes and controls, benchmarking, tax compliance and business and tax planning.
Critical to the quality of our service is:
- Significant partner input - our partners take time to understand you and your business. Their experience ensures you receive excellent accounting technical input and proactive advice.
- Team continuity - we know how important this is and we deliver, so there is no need to explain the same things every year as with most large audit firms.
- Staff training - every member of our audit team receives regular, formal training to ensure they are technically up to date and can audit to the highest standards.
- Internal systems and controls - we invest significant time and resources to ensure our internal systems and quality control procedures are second to none.

Business recovery, reorganization and business turnaround |
At Veritas we provide advice to the management and stakeholders of underperforming and financially distressed businesses to help ensure survivability and to protect investments. Our review of the liquidity and related cash flow issues affecting the business enables us to understand and analyse drivers of cash flow and to carry out what we term "performance improvement measures". We work with our clients to implement a recovery programme aimed at strengthening revenue, liquidity and margins.
In reality insolvency should be the least preferred option, with the focus being on adopting a collaborative approach that helps SME’s effect a turnaround by providing them with access to a panel of business experts. This strategy tailors a solution that can source independent funding, inject the appropriate skills, and place interim management if required. This allows secured creditors (generally the bank) to continue to support a business without further exposure, allowing the SME to continue to trade profitably and improve the banks security position.
If Insolvency is the only option we work closely with insolvency consultants so our clients can obtain advice on IVA’s, CVA’s, bankruptcy and debt consolidation. |

Financial and Management Accounts & KPI's |
The production of financial accounts tells the owner and the business environment – banks, customers, creditors and HM Revenue & Customs – how the business is performing. We offer a full range of accountancy services to sole traders, partnerships or companies, and other organisations, such as charities. Our work is always conducted in a professional but cost effective manner, and is very well respected by the people who use the accounts we produce.
Financial accounts alone however provide a historical view of a companys performance. Todays owner manager wants to know how the business has perfomed the last month or last quarter. We can build a set of management accounts to suit your particular business to focus on sales volumes, operating cost reduction, wastage and margins or whatever key performance indicators you find most relevant to your business.
These are only a few examples of areas of focus and will vary from business to business. With the lack of liquidity in the banking sector more and more financial institutions are requiring up to date management accounts as part of their review of banking facilities. |
